Slab Processing
Found Scott on a Facebook market place add. I needed help flattening a long piece of live edge maple to create a growth chart for my family. The board I had was very twisted and didn’t expect to have much thickness to work with in the end but Scott had a great sense of what he was doing to maximize my end product. Quick turn around and super friendly guy and would highly recommend him.

Precision-crafted slab processing that transforms raw timber into perfectly flattened stable and work-ready surfaces.
The quality of the equipment is reflected in the finished product. From a raw wood slab to a processed, flat, sanded, uniform workable slab.

Slab Flattening
Our Anderson America high-speed CNC router is equipped with a 10hp 3 phase spindle and Masso G3 Touch control System, it’s large working envelope allows us to process slabs up to 144” x 60” x 8” thick. Big machine. Small projects welcome too!
The commercial construction and precision motion control produce an exceptionally flat, smooth surface, eliminating the inconsistencies that can occur with other traditional flattening methods.

Planing
Our 25-inch Woodmaster planer is equipped with a premium helical cutter head, delivering exceptionally smooth, consistent results. The helical head is efficient and provides smooth tear-out resistant cutting.

Machine Sanding
Our Woodmaster 38” drum sander is excellent at smooth surfacing large slabs that have been flattened.

Slab Cutting
Our Festool TS 75 can cut material straight and square up to 2 15/16” thick. This saw provides glue-up quality rip cuts, and clean cross-cuts on thick material that a regular construction style circular saw just can’t.

Live Edge preparation
It’s all about details, and just taking a sander to a live edge erases those details. There are tools and techniques to preserving the live edge that has been growing for years under that bark. There are different approaches based on wood species, condition, and what you envision. We specialize in preserving and enhancing live edge wood.

Domino indexed gluing
Our Festool Domino machine allows us to index multiple slabs together to a single reference face. Once multiple pieces have been flattened and planed to the same thickness, we can glue these together without having to resurface the top.

Finishing
One of the last processes, and most visible, is the finish on your project. There are various hard-wax and LED curing options and professional-quality spray finishes that we can provide. We work with our clients to advise and supply the best solution for the wood type, application, and budget.
